Position Overview
Dine Diaspora is seeking an engaging, knowledgeable, and dynamic sommelier to lead an immersive wine education and tasting experience that explores the connection between proper wine preservation, tasting, and thoughtful food pairing.
The sommelier will guide guests through a curated tasting that celebrates the wines, terroir, and winemaking traditions of the Alsace region of northeastern France. Through compelling storytelling, expert instruction, and audience engagement, they will inspire guests to deepen their appreciation of wine while demonstrating how precision in preservation and serving enhances tasting. The ideal candidate will seamlessly connect wine with the performance of premium wine preservation technology.
Event Overview
Scheduled for October 6, 2026, the event will encompass:
Sommelier-Led Tasting: Guide guests through a curated tasting experience, sharing insights on wine varieties, tasting techniques, and food pairing principles.
Wine Preservation Demonstration: Collaborate with the client’s team as they introduce the features and benefits of their optimal wine preservation technology and serving conditions.
Food Pairings: Enhance the tasting experience by explaining how the selected wines complement the curated hors d'oeuvres.
Responsibilities
Lead a professionally curated wine tasting for event guests.
Educate attendees on selected wine varietals, regions, production methods, tasting techniques, and serving temperatures.
Explain how proper wine preservation influences aroma, flavor, and overall wine quality.
Share practical wine pairing principles and describe how each featured wine complements the curated hors d'oeuvres.
Incorporate educational insights about the Alsace region of northeastern France, highlighting its unique duality, blending German varietal traditions with French winemaking philosophy alongside its terroir, signature grapes, and linkage to the client.
Collaborate with the client's team to select wines, advise on food pairings, and align the tasting program with key product messaging.
Foster guest engagement through storytelling, audience interaction, and Q&A.
Required Qualifications
Professional experience or recognized expertise in the Alsace region of northeastern France, including knowledge of its wines, terroir, winemaking traditions, and varietals.
Familiarity of german wines
Professional sommelier certification (Court of Master Sommeliers, WSET, or equivalent).
Demonstrated experience leading wine tastings, educational seminars, or consumer experiences.
Strong public speaking, facilitation, and audience engagement skills.
Expertise in wine preservation, tasting, and food pairing.
Experience working with luxury brands.
